There are now multiple Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) control zones in the UK. Please check whether you live in one of these zones by viewing the map HERE.

If you DO live in one of these zones please be aware that you CANNOT bring any of your birds to sell, or buy birds and take them back home with you.

Please note that this map is updated regularly so please check it again before setting off on Sunday morning.

Additionally, wherever you live you cannot bring any of the following birds:

  • GALLIFORME birds: i.e. pheasants, partridge, QUAIL, chickens, turkey and guinea fowl.

  • ANSERIFORME birds: i.e. ducks, geese and swans.

  • POULTRY: i.e. all birds that are reared or kept in captivity for the production of meat or eggs for consumption, the production of other commercial products, for restocking supplies of game or for the purposes of any breeding programme for the production of these categories of birds.
Please note that for the purposes of these rules the definition of ‘poultry’ can include pigeons and other birds not traditionally known as poultry if they or their eggs are intended for human consumption.

We are still planning on going ahead with the sale but please check that you do not live in one of the disease control zones before bringing birds.

The only circumstances where we would have to cancel the sale is if Milton itself became a control zone or the licence was withdrawn completely.

As some of you will be aware our original sale sponsor James Bavister is looking to retire from the bird trade and is no longer able to commit to attending our Cambridge sale. We would like to take this opportunity to thank James and Bavister's Pet Centre for supporting us and helping to get the sale off the ground back in January 2020. We wish James well with his future endeavours.

Stepping in to the breach at short notice is Essex Bird Centre who will be our main trade stand on 28th November. Jackie and her team will be supplying a wide range of products including various bird foods, equipment, livefood, frozen insects, supplements etc.

You can see the full range on their website by clicking the button below and you can pre-book products for collection on the day.
